Yeezy 380 Sizing: Size Chart, Fit, Are They True to Size

5 Min Read

Rumour has it the Yeezy 380 was originally supposed to be named the Yeezy 350 V3. However, before the silhouette’s release, the differences between the 350 V2 and the new V3 were so pronounced that the V3 got its own designation. The 380 was born.

The Yeezy 380 follows similar design principles to the 350: A flexible primeknit upper that delivers an excellent sock-like feel, chunky laces and an ultra-comfortable Boost midsole. However, it has a higher ankle cut and roomier toebox which offer increased comfort and support.

How does the Yeezy Boost 380 fit?

Yeezy Boost 380s fit snug. They grip your foot like a sock.

If you have wide feet or don’t like the feeling of tight shoes, we recommend going up half a size. For those of you with very wide feet, it’s worth going up a whole size.

Overall, the Yeezy 380s hug your feet well. They’re stretchy and contour around your foot for the snuggest fit possible.

What is the difference between Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 and Yeezy Boost 380?

Both the Yeezy 350 and 380 are head-turning shoes. Visually they’re quite similar. Both have a primeknit upper and lack any obvious heel counter or support structure.

But look a little closer and you notice a few differences.

The most pronounced is the ankle collar. While the 350’s collar is cut below your ankle, the 380 is much higher.

This offers more support but can lead to rubbing and blisters if you don’t get your Yeezy sizing right – we also recommend wearing high socks with the Yeezy 380s to protect the skin around your ankles.

The toebox in Yeezy 380s is roomier, offering more space for your toes to move and flex as you walk. A common complaint in the 350s was the tight toebox so this is a welcome change.

Both shoes feature the famous Boost outsole which delivers high level cushioning and comfort.

Yeezy 380 FAQ

Do Yeezys run big or small?

Each model of Yeezys has a slightly different fit. But as a general rule, they’re on the snug side. A few models run true to size but for most, you’ll need to go up half a size. This is true for the Yeezy 380s – we recommend going up half a size with these shoes.

Are the Yeezy Boost 380 comfortable?

Yeezy 380s offer out of the box comfort. The chunky Boost sole feels like walking on a mattress and the upper hugs your foot like a sock.

With the welcome addition of a little ankle support, the Yeezy 380s have become a shoe you can wear all day.

It’s worth noting that the higher ankle collar can take a few days to properly break-in. When new, it feels tight and can cause a small amount of rubbing if you wear low cut socks.

Initially, the collar also makes getting the shoes on and off a bit more challenging but this gets easier as it loosens up with use.

Good to Know

  • The Yeezy 380 ankle collar feels very tight for the first few uses, especially when putting on/taking off the shoes. This will get better as the shoes break-in.
  • Yeezy 380s feature a roomier toebox than their predecessor, the Yeezy 350.
  • Generally, Yeezy 380s fit a little snug. Most people will need to go up half a size. If you have very wide feet, go up a whole size.

Final Words

The Yeezy 380s feel a little snug, especially around the ankle collar. Some people will need to go up half a size, especially if they have wide feet. The toebox on the model is roomer than on other Yeezy versions.

While our tester went half-a-size up and got a special insole for shoes that are too big, you may want to experiment before buying.
