Do Crocs Run Big or Small?

As a general rule, Crocs fit true to size. This means that you should not have to size up or down from your normal shoe size.

The exception to this is if you are buying shoes for toddlers. The roomier styles run big on tiny feet so you should size down if buying for a toddler.

2

How to Choose Your Crocs Size

When choosing what type of Crocs to buy, you should look for the fit which best suits you.

All models of Crocs shoes will come in one of three different fits: roomy, relaxed and standard.

2.1

Roomy Fit

This is the roomiest fit that Crocs offer. The classic clog is an example of a Crocs model which uses this fit. It runs wide, which means that your feet won’t usually touch the sides. The shoes are also longer in length, meaning that your toes won’t touch the front of the toebox.

Roomy fitting Crocs provide space across the top of the feet to allow for airflow. Some models also include a heel strap to increase the stability provided by the shoe. These are the best fitting Crocs for those with wide feet.

2.2

Relaxed Fit

If the roomy fitting Crocs are a little too free and easy for you, opt for a relaxed fit for more stability. Some of these relaxed models will have straps or laces, for example, Crocs wedges. All of these should feel stable on your feet.

Expect some room around the foot’s perimeter and a comfortable fit across the top of your foot. There should be some room in the toe box but your toes still shouldn’t touch the front of the shoe. Those with wider feet may find that the sides of their feet do touch the edges of the shoes.

2.3

Standard Fit

Many of the sandals that Crocs produce use their standard fit. This is the most snug shape that the brand offer. Standard fitting shoes should cradle your feet without feeling tight and allow for minimal slipping as you walk.

The heel should fit securely against any strap and the sides, arch area and upper should wrap snugly to the feet. Despite this, there should still be some wiggle room in the toe box.

Your toes shouldn’t hit the front of the shoe. As with all Crocs models, there should still be some degree of airflow within the shoe.

Crocs Sizing FAQs

Do Crocs stretch?

Much like other shoes, Crocs do stretch out over time. Once they are broken in, they can stretch between half an inch to a full inch. Bear this in mind when selecting your size.

Do Crocs run big for toddlers?

Lots of parents say that yes, Crocs do run large for toddlers. This is mostly due to the differences in fit between varying models. Unless your child has particularly wide feet, it would be worth sizing down when buying Crocs in the roomy or relaxed fit.

Why do Crocs have two sizes on the bottom?

Crocs use US sizing on the bottom of their shoes. However, you may have noticed that there are two sizes listed on the underside. This is because many of their shoes are unisex, meaning that they can be worn by both men and women. There is a size for each on the bottom of the shoes. You can find the men’s size on the left and women’s on the right.

What are Crocs made from?

Crocs manufacture their shoes using a type of closed-cell resin. It is called Croslite. This proprietary lightweight material gives each pair of Crocs the comfortable and cushioned feel that the brand is so famous for.

Good To Know

  • Crocs generally fit true to size for adults
  • Crocs run one size large for toddlers
  • Crocs use US sizing on the underside of their shoes
  • All Crocs offer a comfortable fit which allows airflow to your feet

Conclusion

You should pick your normal size when buying a pair of Crocs. The exception to this rule is if you are buying for a toddler, in which case, you should size down. Make sure to consider whether you want a roomier wearing experience and take into account the three different fits which Crocs offer.
