Love ’em or hate ’em, there’s no denying Balenciaga shoes deserve a place in every wealthy fashionista’s collection.

But when you’re dropping hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on a pair of shoes, you need to know how they’ll fit.

How Do Balenciaga Sneakers Fit?

Balenciaga sneakers usually fit large, especially when compared to Nike or Adidas. This is normal for luxury sneakers. As such, we recommend that you go down a full size. So if you usually opt for a UK 9, a UK 8 would be a better fit.

However, a lot of their models tend to be a little tight around the toe box. If you have wide feet, you’re better off only dropping half a size.
If you can’t size down, we recommend wearing thick socks or getting insoles for your Balenciagas.

The only exception to this rule we’ve come across is the Balenciaga Tyrex Sneakers. These offer a snugger fit than other Balenciaga shoes. You should remain true to size in Balenciaga Tyrex Sneakers.

2

How Comfortable are Balenciaga Sneakers?

While the comfort of Balenciaga sneakers differs between models, you won’t be disappointed with any of them.

They’re comfortable enough to be worn as everyday sneakers and some models are suitable for more strenuous activities. You don’t want to run a marathon in these shoes but they’ll be comfortable enough for hours of stomping around trendy city districts.

The biggest downside in terms of comfort is the weight of Balenciaga sneakers. They tend to be much heavier than “normal” trainers which can take some getting used to.

How to Measure Your Feet for the Right Balenciaga Sneakers

The first step in getting the right size Balenciaga sneakers is knowing the size of your feet.

The best way to measure your feet is to visit a shoe shop and ask them to measure your feet. They will have a Brannock Device which gives a much more accurate result than the DIY methods below.

If you don’t have a shoe shop, you’ll need to measure your feet at home.

To do so, you will need:

  • A ruler
  • A piece of paper
  • A pen or pencil

Then follow these simple steps:

  1. Place the piece of paper on the floor, with the short edge against a wall.
  2. Place one foot on the paper with your heel against the wall – ensure you are wearing the same socks you plan to wear with your sneakers.
  3. Draw around your foot, then repeat the process for your other foot.
  4. Measure from the back of your heel to the end of your longest toe. Note: your longest toe may not be your big toe.
  5. Take this measurement and compare it to the sizing chart above.

Alternatively, you can stand on the ruler with your heel at zero and measure to your longest toe.

Good to Know

  • Balenciaga’s tend to fit large.
  • If you have regular width feet, go down a full size.
  • If you have wide feet, we recommend going down half a size.
  • Most Balenciaga’s are available in half sizes.

Final Words

Balenciaga’s aren’t for everyone. They have hordes of devoted fans but an equal number of haters. Regardless of your feelings, these shoes are as iconic as it gets.

When choosing the perfect Balenciaga sneakers for you, size and fit are as important as aesthetics. They tend to fit large. If you have regular width feet, ensure you get the best fit by dropping down a whole size. If you have wide feet, drop down half a size.
